  • The Fault in Our Stars is a movie , based on the novel of the same name by John Green. It is an Romantic - Comedy - Drama movie based in Indiana, America.
  • The story is about a 16-year old girl, Hazel who is a cancer patient and is forced by her parents to join a Support Group. Here she meets Augustus Waters and she falls in love with him :)

The story is narrated by Hazel, who has a terminal throat cancer. Since her mom feels she is depressed , she suggests Hazel to join a Cancer Support Group at a Church nearby !

Here she sees Augustus Waters a 17 yr boy who has Osteosarcoma and has an amputed leg!

Befor departing from Augustus' house they both recommend each other theor favourite novel.

Hazel suggests , "An Imperial Affliction" and Augustus after finishing the book, comes to know that the story ends mid-sentence.

Hazel then tells him that the author Peter Van Houten had shifted to Amsterdam. 

Weeks later, Gus (Augustus) reveals to Hazel that he was succesful in tracking down the author's whereabouts through Lindewij - Author's secretary via mails.

Hazel then writes a mail to the author asking about the novel's end. and he replies that he will only answer her wen she comes donw to Amsterdam in person.

Hazel proposes this idea to her mom who eventually denies, becoz of financial and Hazel's medical conditions

Augustus on this, surprises Hazel wid tickets to Amsterdam using his "make-a-wish" for cancer patients.

but before they could fly down to Amsterdam, Hazel falls serious sick and gets admitted.

Thus the trip was cancelled, but then she gets a mail from the author saying , he has done all the arrangements and Hazel , along with Gus and her mom can fly down.

during the trip Hazel and Gus comes more close to each other and on thelast day of the trip he confesses her of his PET scan and that his cancer has relapsed.

still, the two lovers affirm their love for each other.

Upon return,Gus's health deteriorates significantly. In the final days, Gus arranges a pre-funeral and requests his friend Issac- who lost his eyes due to cancer and Hazel to speak Eulogies for him.

Gus dies 8 days later after!!

At Gus's funeral, Hazel is astonished to see that author and he explains her that after their return from Amsterdam, Gus was in constant touch with him and had asked the author to make up for the run he had done when he and Hazel had went to see him.

Later that day, Issac tells Hazel that Gus had asked help for writing an Eulogy for her frm the author. she remembers the crumpled paper and then reads it. 

the movie ends with Hazel reading Gus's words in which he confides the acceptance of death and his love for her. a sentiment she returns.

Overall, the movie adapted the novel yet the experience I felt while reading, somehow didnt get while watching in on screen.
to people who wont read 300+ pages of book, go watch it.
but the novel is way better :)
i will give 3.5 stars on 5 for movie
