Remember, when in school History was one of the disliked subjects for many of us!! As small kids, we hated to remember the dates and those names!! But, unlike those who hated this subject, I loved History. I liked to know the struggle and pain taken by those numerous freedom fighters, the sacrifice they did for making India, an independent county!! Probably that was the reason, I went to see this awesome movie. Its rare, very rare i will go and watch a movie in Marathi!! But the name, the personality in this movie made me go and watch it out!!

Lokmanya, a film that encompasses the journey of a young boy from his early days, to becoming the legend!! It is indeed an inspiration for many many generations to come. How the systems today are messed up and everyday there are so many problems, newer ones to b faced! The corruption, the hiked up prices of day-to-day items, how even today we as a country are not "free" or "independent", even today we are fighting between religions, the most favorite being between the Hindus & Muslims, how the politicians are so busy filling their own pockets they forget the common man, rich is getting richer and poor getting poorer and so many, that the list can go on and on....

But if we see through Tilak's point of view, these all are not mere problems, they are challenges and thus a new opportunity!! an opportunity for development, for betterment of the society, for making our country in real sense independent.

The movie, Lokmanya discovers the ideals and visions of the great freedom fighter, comments on social - political situations of today's India & also how it can be improved using his messages!! the messages which were delivered more than a century ago!!

Apart from the story and the concept, the acting of the Protagonist - Subodh Bhave is mind blowing! Like he portrayed the legend so flawlessly... The sets, the locations, the costumes and the main is well written and well delivered dialogues!! It makes one to think that yes we can bring change!!

We all, especially the young generation should definitely watch the movie and try to follow the message given !! I know we cant follow all of them but even if we follow some, then definitely no one can stop India being the #1 country !!

My ratings - 4.5 out of 5 !!

Must watch this awesome movie !! and for people who cant understand Marathi, there are subtitles in English !! Go for the legend, for the superb acting, for history can be made interesting subject too!!
