What is Virginity?

 According to the dictionary the definition is:
Noun - the state of never having had sexual intercourse.

That is, it is an “adjective” which states that whether an individual has had sexual intercourse or not.
However, there is no medical or biological definition of virginity. None!! Nothing!!



There is no real definition of virginity except for, you know, the one in the dictionary, which defines it as “the state of never having had sexual intercourse.”


India is the country that gave the world, the biggest knowledge on sex under the name of Kama Sutra - an ancient Indian Hindu text written by Vatsyayana and is widely considered to be the standard work on human sexual behavior in Sanskrit literature.


Kama Sutra means "Kama" which is one of the four goals of Hindu life, means desire including sexual desire and "Sutra" literally means a thread or line that holds things together, and more metaphorically refers to an aphorism (or line, rule, formula), or a collection of such aphorisms in the form of a manual. It is this same country where the words like 'virgin' or 'virginity' is more than often looked upon with disgust, especially for the females. The reason being, if she is “not a virgin” before she gets married, she is considered as “impure”!! Bullshit!!



Losing one’s virginity or not, is entirely on the person’s desire for it and it has nothing to do (yes, NOTHING) with “purity”.

Purity should come in the way one thinks!! About oneself, about God, about society and about everything!!

Apparently, having sexual intercourse is not “the only way” to lose virginity!!

Let's see the various reasons why would or how can a girl looses her (should I say, precious?) virginity:
The hymen can break in a number of ways– from excessive bleeding while menstruating, horseback riding, masturbation, falling from a trampoline, to just slowly wearing down over time.

Research says that even a doctor cannot after looking at your vagina or how big it is to decide if you are a virgin!!



“Hymens” come in all different shapes and sizes. Most of the time, they don’t even cover the entire vaginal opening, so menstrual blood can still leave the body. If they do cover the entire vaginal opening, a doctor will need to correct that to make both menstruation and intercourse less painful.
Again, losing virginity or breaking of hymen has nothing to do with any girls character (Yes, ANY!!) being bad or impure.

The reason I am being so specific is, there is a girl I know who has this very big fuss about having sex before marriage and then it making you impure and alike. I tried to tell her (rather, explain) that this has nothing to do with purity or being a good or a bad girl or if you need to feel bad about losing it.

But she was very adamant that this is how I have been brought up and guys always want a virgin girl to marry, if not, in the later stage (i.e. post marriage first sexual intercourse) when the husband finds the girl he has married is NOT a virgin, creating a lot of problems.



Again, guys, whoever feels that the girl I should marry should be a virgin, grow up!! Respect the lady and trust her with all she is. Virginity shouldn’t be the base of your relationship (married or not); Love should be!!



Likewise, if all these years you’ve been waiting for you cherry to be popped and it is not yet accomplished, then worry not!! Losing your virginity by sexual intercourse does little, not more changes in the way you’d feel the other day. But still, if you really want to lose it, then who’s stopping you? Go ahead, fall in love (or not!!) and do whatever your heart feels right. At the end of the day, you should never live with any regrets!



It’s better to say Oh Well! Than WHAT IF??
