Book Review - The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck!

Name: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck!
Author: Mark Manson
Published by: Harper Collins
Number of pages: 210
Genre: Self-Help

Honestly, I bought this book after seeing it on my sister's Instagram story and I happen to ask her for her review on it. She said that never has she laughed so hard while reading a book which is under the genre of "self-help".

The very next moment, I was on Amazon, placing an order of this book!

As soon as the order was delivered, I couldn't help but open it and start reading, almost immediately.

The book is goddamn amazing! It is not like other books under this genre and it instantly connects with the reader and you realize, "Damn! This is so me!"

The instances given in the book are so amazing and realistic. There is a lot of FU*K used in this book that whilst you read the sentences in your mind, there's a constant grin of the face, because, we too, use this word so very often on a day-to-day life.

WHAT THIS BOOK IS "NOT" ABOUT:

This book is not like other books for it does not teach us to be "Positive all the time" or "things to do to attract goodness" - it tells that life is what it is - pool of shit, and we got to deal with it. There's no need to be extraordinary or to stand in front of the mirror and talk yourself into shit like "you are beautiful" or "you can do this" etc.

This book will turn your pain into a tool, your trauma into power, and your problems into slightly better problems.

It will not teach you how to gain or achieve, but rather how to lose and let go. It will teach you to take inventory of your life and scrub out all but most important items. It will teach you to close your eyes and trust that you can fall backwards and still be okay. It will teach you to give fewer fucks. It will teach you to not try.

Then, what is this book actually about?

The author - Mark Manson, tells us that - Happiness is not a solvable equation.

He tells us that we should appreciate life's basic experiences - the pleasure of simple friendship, creating something, helping a person in need, reading ago hook, laughing with someone you care about.

The author says that the question we should be asking us not "how do I stop suffering?" but "why am I suffering - for what purpose?"

The author talks about variety of subjects in this book like:
The 5 counter-intuitive values, what to and what not to give a fuck about, life, pain, suffering, self awareness, self acceptance, love, relationships, and death!

I would be soon sharing lessons to be learnt from this book, until then - remember:

It's okay for things to suck sometimes and Don't give too many fucks!
